Love is the nature of our gracious Lord which He did not hold back at all in expressing to all of mankind. One of the most popular references in the Bible to the magnanimity of God’s love towards us is found in John 3:16 which states: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.
The Bible further says in Romans 5:7 TPT, “But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly”. What an assurance of the Father's love! He loved us and sent Jesus to die for us even while we were not reciprocating this love.
But it gets even better. The love of the Father didn’t end with the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus for us; it’s on-going and eternal. He loves us with an everlasting love and absolutely nothing can change that. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39 NIV).
The scriptures are clear: Our Lord Jesus is a love letter from God. He is the expression of the Father’s love for us. The love of man is fickle but His love is absolute and enduring. Live life every day confident of His love for you which would eliminate all forms of worry or struggle. Furthermore, Practise your love of the Lord by serving him wholeheartedly. Love Him more than you love yourself because He loves you more than you love yourself.
