DOMINION
DOMINION
Dominion- a term that was first used in the scripture in Genesis 1:28, when the Lord charged man to exercise rulership over the earth, to multiply and replenish it. It has always been the Lord’s desire for man to operate from a position of influence or control with regard to this world.
Despite sometimes having a negative connotation of aggression or subjugation, dominion in a much broader sense refers to the right or responsibility to govern, rule, or determine.
This beautiful month of August has been declared as the Month of Dominion, and we have been admonished by our great Man of God to exercise dominion in the following ways:
1. Through Prayer
“…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”- James 5:16 (AMPC)
This Scripture talks about being fervent in prayer and expectation. In exercising dominion, the Lord wants us to know that we can make remarkable changes in prayer that even Heaven responds to.
2. Through our Faith Proclamations
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”- Hebrews 13:5-6
Learn to speak according to what God has said in His Word. His Word is creative material and He spoke so that we could respond in consonance with our words. Constantly make bold declarations of what God has said.
3. By Prophecies
“This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;”- 1 Timothy 1:18
Be mindful to pull out the prophecies in the Scriptures concerning you and use them to make war against the enemy. Remember that our weapon of offense is the sword of God and it’s not in our hands but in our mouths (Revelation 1:15-16). By this, the Lord uses us to destroy the works of the devil (Jeremiah 51:20).
Be sure to exercise Dominion this month of August and beyond.
