At the creation, God leased the earth to Man. As the Landlord, He retained ownership but as with lease agreements, man was given much authority to run the earth.
Genesis 1:28 states: ‘’And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.’’
Satan understood this well and was able to gain dominion of the earth by luring Adam and Eve to give up their authority willingly through disobedience, thus opening up the channel for sin and death to enter into man’s world. But thanks be to God, Our Lord Jesus through His vicarious death and glorious resurrection defeated Satan and took back possession of all power and authority in heaven and the earth, which He has vested in the church today. (Reference Matthew 28:18)
It hasn’t expired yet
Despite the havoc that Satan and his cohorts seek to wreck upon the world, it’s our responsibility as the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, to maintain peace and order in our world delivering men from the influence of devils and grinding evil to a halt. We currently hold the lease on the earth- it hasn’t expired yet- and we are the ones ordained of God to be the chief restrainers of evil in the world today. (Reference 2 Thessalonians 2:7 NIV).
Our prayers make it possible and legal for the Lord to intervene in the world and affairs of men. (Reference 2 Chronicles 7:14).
It’s time once again to make much power available to effect necessary changes in our world by exercising our authority in the Name of Jesus through prayer.
